What does a solar inverter label include?

Why are solar inverter labels important?

These regulations are in place to protect consumers and maintain the quality of solar power systems. Solar inverter labels play a pivotal role in installing and operating solar power systems. They provide essential information about solar inverters and their compliance with South African laws and standards.

How much does a solar inverter label cost?

No fee is needed for renewing the label permission. A labeling fee of ₹5 (~$0.06)/ kW is charged for each solar inverter, but this is waived until March 31, 2025. Sampling process BEE or an assigned agency will randomly pick samples from the manufacturer’s authorized dealers, retailers, or e-market platforms for initial testing.

Should solar inverters be labeled?

Given this small range in efficiency levels, the Bureau has decided to introduce an endorsement label instead of the usual star labeling for these solar inverters. The label will contain the overall efficiency percentage, label period, product name, manufacturer name, model number, manufacturing year, and rated capacity in kW.
